Its APPLE WEEK!
Today the students explored centers, 3s had chapel with Miss Jordan while 4s met for morning meeting, then we talked all about apples! We conducted a taste test to see which color is our favorite and how different varieties of apples taste different, we talked about the parts of the apple (stem, core, flesh, skin, seeds) and about how apples grow! We also had indoor recess, finished the Howdy Partner book, fed the worms and did apple stamping.
We are SO excited for our Field Trip to Rocky Brook on Thursday at 9am. We are going RAIN or SHINE! So dress for the weather :) Each child will get their own bag for picking, parents can purchase their own bag there. Please wear your EDS t-shirt. We will walk up the hill and pick apples then gather at the Gazebo to hear about the apples from Mr. Andy and hear an apple story from one of our teachers.
The parent Community Outreach subcommittee has planned a visit to Howland Park on Wapping Rd right after the field trip. Then enjoy your day, maybe make some applesauce or other yummy apple creations together with your child!
