It was another wonderful week, but we missed Miss Terri! She is healing and will not be in school next week. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
The Students: explored centers, worked on a special card for Miss Terri, participated in morning meeting, practiced two pumpkin poems, sang the monster boogie, listened to a story, completed their fall flip books, worked on their giant jack-o-lanterns and told a story about them, played outside And celebrated a birthday.
This week we introduced the social and self help skill of a self serving snack time. During morning centers, students are encouraged to practice pouring from pitchers and large bottles to small cups. At snack, teachers assist the students in pouring their own drinks. The students are also learning to scoop their own food portions on to their plate from a community bowl. Right now, we are providing the students with plenty of support and assistance. We will gradually release responsibility as they master the tasks. Look for these wonderful skills to develop at home! :)
