December 10, 2019, Tuesday

We have reindeer at the North Pole, and today we even had penguins at the south pole in our water table.  The large ice chunks for the penguins did not last long, they melted away in our cozy warm classroom.  Our other morning workshop tables were play dough with holiday themed cookie cutters and paint stamping.  Our beading station has remained a favorite for our little elves to make presents.

At morning meeting we reviewed how many days until our pageant...and then how many days until Christmas Eve.  We introduced the letter B today and reinforced that letter sound by learning  a fun poem about Christmas Bells.

Our snack was fresh peppers and tomatoes, yogurt and crackers.  After snack we dressed in our costumes and practiced the pageant.  Our friends did a fantastic job of singing loud and clear for all to hear!

Even though it was a dreary day, it was a quite pleasant temperature for outdoor play today.  We were all ready for fresh air after our practice time.

After lunch we met in the math room and listened to the story, T'was The Night Before Christmas.  We talked about our number of the month and how it matches the number of reindeer that Santa calls in the story to pull his sleigh.  We built a fun reindeer counting board together.  We then went into our table groups to work on our Letter B page.  We attempted to end our day outside, but the rain set in too heavily.

Please join us tomorrow for our December PARENT COMMITTEE meeting at 9 am in the Guild Room. Children and siblings are welcome.
