May 29, 2019, Wednesday

Today we began to our "Goodbyes."  One of our beloved friends is moving today, so we celebrated our time together by making a giant goodbye poster and dancing a special dance together.  She chose the Birthday Song by the Beatles...so we sang "today is your last day," instead of today is your birthday.

We began our day with open play and went right to snack (cheese sticks and trail mix of pretzels and animal crackers) so we could prepare for our walking field trip to the Library.

Once we arrived at the library, Miss Cathy read us two special stories pictured below.  She gave us a wonderful tour of the library, some friends got their first library card, and we ended in the children's play area.  Our visit was extra special this year as one of our EDS Moms works at the library and gave us a special demonstration of how to make a special library book cover for the new books before they go on the library shelf.  We learned that there is special tape on the books that helps to keep track of checking them in and out of the library.

After lunch we played before coming together for our goodbye circle.  It is always bittersweet wishing our friends a fond farewell.
