February 4, 2019 Monday

It was a Marvelous Monday! We welcomed a new friend and a new student volunteer to our classroom. At morning workshop we finished up our Valentine's to mail on our field trip to the post office, explored the pirate ships and stamped and delivered mail in our EDS post office. We had chapel with Mother Anita, for snack today we had applesauce and goldfish. After snack we had a good giggle retelling the story of The Mitten by Jan Brett with puppets. We each got a turn to be a different animal squeezing into the mitten. Then we went outside to enjoy this BEAUTIFUL spring like weather.

Our school yard is melting in this unseasonably warm weather, please wear boots that can get muddy and also keep your toes warm. Miss Kate was out again today, we miss her and hopes she feels better soon! Please check out the notice from RI Dept of Health that went home today. Please make sure your child is washing their hands and getting plenty of water and rest in this germ season!

Tomorrow we are celebrating the Lunar (Chinese) New Year! We will read stories, talk about special traditions and even make a dragon train! At lunch we will try some local American Chinese flavors by ordering from China Star. If your child is not interested in trying this food, please send their usual lunch.

THURSDAY we are going on a FIELD TRIP to the POST OFFICE on Thames street. Arrival is at 10 am. EDS will be closed that day.

Please remember to send in your Valentine cards by the 12th, and RSVP to our Grandparents Ice Cream Social so we can get a headcount.

Thank you for all you do :)
