January 30, 2019 Wednesday

Our pet shelter really came to life today when the Potter League came to visit!  Ms. Eleanor read us a wonderful story called BLUE about a little boy that really wished for a blue dog.  In the end, he decided to name his dog blue as it was impossible to find a blue colored dog.  We got to share all of our own pet stories with her before she invited friends up to the sharing circle to pull items from a mystery bag.  The items were all things used by the pet shelter.  She shared what their purpose was for animals after the children were given the chance to share their ideas.  Before she left, she introduced the children to Glen. He was a special white bunny with pink eyes.  He was found at Glen Park and brought to the Potter League.  The boys and girls formed a human fence with their chris-cross legs and Glen went about the circle visiting everyone.  She shared a special coloring paper that you will find in your child's backpack.

Our snack today was cracker and cheese puff mix and choice of banana or apple.  We went outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine.

After lunch we worked in our HWT workbooks for letter F.  We continued work on our special valentines for the ice cream social.  We talked about Football and the big competition game coming up this weekend.  We tossed the football around and voted for the Patriots or the Rams by putting a football sticker on a special football field board that we created yesterday.  We will see what the favored team is here at EDS!  Parents are invited to weigh in, just ask for a football sticker and you can sway the favored team!  Friday will be a nonuniform shirt day. You can wear your favorite team shirt (any sport) or your team colors!
