January 10, 2018, Wednesday

It was a wonderful Wednesday!  Today's Polar animal in the Mystery Box was a Seal!  We had a bunch of great questions and guesses, but it was a surprise in the end.   Our question of the day was "Are Polar Bears the Biggest of all Bears?"  Our Arctic book told us that, yes, Polar Bears are the biggest of all bears!  Today's snack was bagels with cream cheese and apples!  Please look for the new snack schedule calendar that was sent home today in your folder.  Please pack the school communication folder and bring it to school because we have reinstated daily reports.   They are a new format and now include a block for you to place your initials indicating that they have been viewed by a parent or guardian.

In preparing for future activities, please bring in a shoe box (or small box about that size) so we can decorate them for our Valentines.  Thank you!

The snow had thawed enough that we could dig out our icebergs today!  What was frozen in the iceberg today?  Whales!
Another glorious snow play day!  Sunny, no wind, lots of snow to play in!  What could be better?  We now have two sliding hills and a fort!
 We painted penguins!

Mrs. Birch came for a visit today! The children were very excited to see her!
 Telling Polar stories...

Today's science...how many drops of warm water to melt our iceberg?
Using a dropper is fun and great for fine motor development!

 Is it gone?
 Great concentration exercise!
Nothing more fun than a painting a puffy snowperson!  They are so cheery too!

In honor of the letter G, we have been reading many Gingerbread stories.  Today we read the original, THE GINGERBREAD BOY, and GINGERBREAD FRIENDS.
