April 6, 2018, Friday

Paint, paint and more paint!  We are finishing our art projects for our annual EDS Art Show next week.  So much paint, we decided to read MOUSE PAINT the story.  We enjoyed the story and wanted to act it out and retell it.  It was so much fun!  At morning meeting we looked at different famous artists' pictures and talked about an artist's style and how some people like an artist's style while others do not...and that is okay.  It is just fine to have your own opinion.  We then explored a large Art collection book and tried to spy with our little eye some paintings of the artists we just talked about.  BRAVO to the children! They were quite skilled at spying the styles of Picasso, Matisse, Van Gogh (a bit confusing with Monet, but most could differentiate) and Rembrandt.  Our snack was yogurt and granola.  We had indoor recess.  Our question of the day was, "Have you ever ridden in a sailboat?"   The Volcano was blasting off today too.  We had fun exploring our Vinegar Volcano...two "V" words!  We had a bunch of fireman dress up today.  Our brave boys and girls to the rescue!

Painting Daffodils...
 Painting leaping logs...
Looks like the Easter Bunny is getting a serious talking to...

 What is in the dirt?

The Easter Bunny can make a V!

Fun Friday...we can wear dress up to morning meeting!

Exploring different artists' styles and then trying to find them in a fun Art collection book.  These children have a good eye for artistic styles...they were quite skilled at picking out the different artist's works.
The mice are washing the paint off themselves int he cat's water dish!
While the cats were sleeping, the mice explored the colored paint.
Those are jars of paint..they are hard to see in the picture, but they are there.
Our texture collage is almost done.

Firemen to the rescue!  I believe those carriages are actually firetrucks.

Gardening gloves are helpful for digging in the dirt.

We never get tired of the Volcano blasting off!  You just never know when it is going to happen!
Some of us did not like the smell of vinegar, some of us did.
We called this baking soda volcano dust.

 There it goes!

Today we wanted to feel the lava....
The cats are waking up!  They are looking for the mice...but they cannot see them because they are hiding on the white paper!
 Sleeping cats..
The mice are mixing up the paint colors.
 Their fur keeps changing colors...

Snip, Snap, Snout...this tale's told out...the perfect end to a Fun Friday!
