We had a SPECTACULAR Harbor Field Trip today! Thank you all for coming! Photos will post tonight!
We learned about making sails, toured IRYS and checked out the boats they were building, saw the massive Cornet and how it is being restored, checked out the harbor and Newport on the ferry, saw the fastest racing boat in the world, saw the lift they use at the shipyard to work on boats, toured the shipyard and had a pizza party at Belles Cafe! All of these places are open to the public so check them out again this summer!
A Special thanks to Mr. Neal of Brooks Marine Group (an alumni parent) for putting this all together! And Thank You to all of the people who hosted us today! IYRS, New Sails, Oldport Marine, the Newort Shipyard and Belles Cafe! We are so lucky to be in such a special sailing community!
Miss Terri and Miss Jackie had a wonderful day with our younger kids back at school, the littles loved being in charge for once!
