October 22nd

Good Afternoon,

FIELD TRIP TOMORROW!! Wear your UNIFORM!
If you are walking with us meet at EDS by 11:00 we are leaving 11:30. Please bring your wagon on a stroller for the walk especially if you have younger children.

Just a reminder, the person accommodating your child on the field trip is the one who is responsible for their supervision. It can be a very busy environment so we need eyes on all children at all times. Thank you!

We will have a pizza picnic at the fireplace in Queen Anne's Square at 12. After everyone is finished with lunch, as a group we will walk together to pick pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. After picking your pumpkin please find a teacher or parent with a sharpie- we will mark your pumpkin then load them into a car. A parent volunteer will drive all of the pumpkins back to EDS. Thank you parent volunteers and the PAB for planning such a lovely event!

We will leave the pumpkin patch and walk back to EDS at 1:15. Families can dismiss from the pumpkin patch or walk back to school with us. All typical dismissal procedures will occur.

Jack-o-lantern Family Assignment: Each family is asked to create at least one jack-o-lantern (the more the merrier) and return them to EDS by Wednesday, October 28th. We will light all them the jack-o-lanterns to by displayed during our Evening Pumpkin Parade!

EDS Evening Pumpkin Parade will take place Thursday, October 29th from 6:00-7 in the Emmanuel Church Yard. Refreshments will be served in the library. This event is open to all so spread the word!  Students at encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. We are looking for parent volunteers to help with set up, to monitor our pumpkins and keep them lit all night and help with clean up. Sign up through Perfect Potluck.

CONFERENCES: EDS is hosting parent/teacher conferences the week of Nov2- Nov5th. These are not mandatory, it is an opportunity to discuss student baseline data. Please email me if you are interested in scheduling a conference for before or after school on any of those dates.

The students: explored centers, painted feet to make ghosts, participated in morning meeting, danced to the monster boogie and sang other Halloween songs, discussed the letter A, retold a Halloween story with a visiting grandmother, explored outside, flew a kite, raked and collected leaves, and wrote in journals.

Email me if you have any questions or concerns about tomorrow!
Thanks for all you do!
Miss Carissa
