It’s time to
think about our new school year!  Joined
by EDS’s remarkably warm, talented and creative teachers together we are
committed to providing your child a nurturing, fun, hands on, enriching
learning experience!  We are busy
preparing and can’t wait to open our doors and hearts to each child as they
arrive at school on that very first day. It’s a very special time!
I am
thrilled to be the new Director here at Emmanuel Day School. It is my goal to work collaboratively with teachers,
parents and the staff and congregation of Emmanuel Church to foster a learning
environment that excites the imagination, inspires creativity and instills a
lifelong passion for learning. I am looking forward to meeting you! Each school year we design the makeup of our classes and our environment to best promote our student body. This year, Terri Traeger will teach the younger three year old group, Kate Frantz will teach the older 3’s/young 4’s, and I will teach the pre-k class.
Orientation:
Will be held on Wednesday September 3rd.  Terri’s and Kate’s students are invited to
visit between 10am-11am and pre-k students from 11am-12pm. This is an open
house for you and your child to explore the school together, talk with teachers
and meet friends old and new.
*Please
bring all completed year start forms located in this packet with you. Your
child may not start school until all required forms have been completed and
returned. If you cannot attend the orientation then please mail or drop off the
completed paperwork in the EDS slot on the wall in the main office. Please
resubmit some forms that you may have already filled out this summer.
First
Day of School: School will start on Thursday, September 4th.
If your child is enrolled for Thursdays your start date is the first day. If
your child does not regularly attend on a Thursday, his/her start date will be
on the first scheduled day of the week that he/she is registered.
Back
to School Family Night: You and your family are invited
to join us for an evening picnic with Mr. Christopher on September 18th,
from 6pm to 7:30pm.
Per RI Dept. of Children, Youth and Families and the RI Dept. of Education all children must be at least 3 years of age and potty trained to enter preschool.
As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. It is the partnership that we build together that helps each child to soar! I know that we will be an amazing team! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Yours truly,
Carissa Perkowski, Director
